Pioneer Valley Early Music Day 2018 - Call for Proposals
Ensemble Musica Humana will be hosting the fourth annual Pioneer Valley Early Music Day on October 20, 2018! We are seeking proposals from ensembles specializing in historically informed performance of Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music that wish to perform at this festival.
Our goal is to introduce new ears to early music by presenting free performances in public spaces. On Pioneer Valley Early Music Day performers from all over the Northeast will surprise the public in bookshops, farm stands, art galleries, breweries, and more. The performances will take place on one day in multiple towns in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin counties. Each location will have a trained volunteer present to explain the festival to passers-by, and to hand out brief program notes. The program notes will have a quick and easy introduction to the music, the instruments, the performer(s), and how to find similar music.
Please send your application to [email protected] by August 1, 2018. Ensembles that are chosen will be notified on August 15. Performers will be paid $100 per performance, ensembles are capped at $500 per performance.
